CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
ME & MY SHADOW (18 MONTH – 3): Me & My Shadow is designed for littles who are ready to step into the dance studio and tumbling gym with a parent or caregiver. Me & My Shadow students will explore movement while strengthening their bond with their parent or caregiver. Build strength, coordination, and confidence in the studio and gym! Get ready for fun obstacle courses, musical exploration, and amazing memories with your little one!
TINY STEPPERS (AGES 3-4) BALLET/TAP: A creative movement structured class with elements of ballet and tap where students ages 3-4 will develop physical skills, explore movement through music, ignite creativity and stimulate imagination

STEPPIN UP (AGES 5-7) BALLET/JAZZ: A combo class of ballet and jazz with a focus on introducing body positions, technique, class etiquette, beginner barre/center, and terminology. Dancers will stretch, isolate, and increase their strength and flexibility all while moving and grooving to fun and upbeat music that everyone will love!
STEPPIN UP (AGES 5-7) BALLET/TAP: A combo class of ballet and tap with a focus on introducing body positions, technique, class etiquette, beginner barre/center, and terminology. Dancers will develop musicality, rhythm, coordination, mobility, flexibility, and body awareness all while dancing to fun and upbeat music everyone will love!

BALLET I (AGES 8-11): A Beginning level ballet class focusing on the basics of ballet including proper placement and posture; ballet body positions, plies, tendus, piques, and port de bras, etc. this beginning level ballet class will have an emphasis on technique as well as instill an appreciation for ballet and create a love for the movement.
JAZZ/TAP I (AGES 8-11): A class that inspires creativity and teachers the fundamentals of jazz and tap. Students will develop rhythm, musicality, body awareness, coordination, flexibility, mobility, and jazz/tap technique. Students will learn basic tap steps and timing, along with fundamental jazz movements such as kicks, turns, jumps, and across-the-floor progressions. Classes include a warm-up, technique exercises, and age-appropriate choreography that helps dancers build performance skills.
LYRICAL I (AGES 9-12): an introduction to lyrical where students will use connecting and flowing movements to interpret music and express inner emotions. students in lyrical will feel light, breathy, and airy in this style of dance while allowing them to further their techniques of ballet and jazz and express their emotions to tell a story.
HIP HOP (AGES 7-11): A beginner level class that is designed for students to focus on building a strong foundation through basic grooves, rhythm exercises, and introductory hip hop techniques. Students learn fundamental movements, body control, and more while developing confidence in a supportive and energetic environment. This level emphasizes having fun, expressing creativity, and learning the core elements of hip hop culture and movement at a comfortable pace.

LYRICAL II (AGES 12+): An advanced beginner/intermediate level lyrical class where students will use connecting and flowing movements to interpret music and express inner emotions. emotional expression is a critical element in lyrical and often requires and uses tilts, arches, spirals, and curves as an aesthetic addition. students in lyrical will feel light, breathy, and airy in this style of dance while allowing them to further their techniques of ballet and jazz and express their emotions to tell a story.
JAZZ II (AGES 11-13): An advanced beginner jazz class that has an emphasis on body alignment and technique. in this class, students will focus on developing strong foundational skills for leaps/turns, jumps, isolations, building consistency in technique, performance quality, and an overall development of style (jazz funk, broadway jazz, commercial jazz).
BALLET II (AGES 11-13): A Beginning/advanced beginner level ballet class focusing on the basics of ballet including proper placement and posture; plies, tendus, degages, rond de jambe, piques, battements, port de bras, etc. in this class, students will be challenged with more complex combinations at barre, center, and across the floor; petite and grand allegro, waltz, pirouette and pique combinations, intro to adagio, etc. this beginning/intermediate level ballet class will have an emphasis on technique as well as continue to instill an appreciation for ballet and further the love for the movement.
TAP II (AGES 10-13): An Advanced Beginner Tap class designed for dancers who have a solid understanding of basic tap vocabulary and are ready to expand their technique, speed, and rhythmic awareness. Students will build upon foundational tap skills while learning more intricate footwork, combinations, and timing patterns.
HIP HOP II (12+): An Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Hip Hop class that is designed for dancers who have mastered basic hip hop fundamentals and are ready to build on their technique, performance quality, and choreography retention. Students will continue to develop more complex movement patterns, transitions, and rhythms. Dancers will be encouraged to improve performance, execution, and personal expression. This level is ideal for students with previous hip hop experience who are comfortable learning choreography at a moderate pace and are ready to take their skills to the next level in a motivating and supportive environment.

BALLET III (13+): An advanced beginner/Intermediate level ballet class focusing on a continual study of fundamentals, extended to emotional expression and precision. in this class students will also develop fluid artistic control. students will be challenged with more complex combinations at barre, center, and across the floor; petite and grand allegro, waltz, pirouette and pique combinations, intro to adagio, etc. this intermediate level ballet class will have an emphasis on technique as well as continue to instill an appreciation for ballet and further the love for the movement.
JAZZ III (AGES 13+): An intermediate jazz class that has requires a strong foundation in ballet with an emphasis on body alignment and technique. in this class, students will focus on more higher level skill leaps/turns, jumps and isolations. students will continue to build consistency in technique, performance quality, and an overall development of style (jazz funk, broadway jazz, commercial jazz).
TAP III (AGES 13+): This level of tap class combines shuffles, flaps, stomps, riffs, pullbacks, time-steps, and more together in order to create complex rhythm and mixed meter combinations which enables students to easily slide between styles of different tap performers (ex. Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, and Bill “Bo Jangles” Robinson). This tap class will have a focus and emphasis on clarity of rhythm and sound, as well as the development of style through the use of the whole body.

CONTEMPORARY (AGES 13+): A contemporary class where students are encouraged to be versatile in their expressions and will work on being able to portray a wide array of movement styles and emotion. this class focuses on use of body weight, floor work, leaps/turns, alignment, breath control, and balance.

PRE-POINTE (AGES 11+): A class designed for ballet students preparing to begin pointe work. This class focuses on developing the strength, alignment, flexibility, and technical foundation necessary for safe and successful dancing en pointe. Students participate in targeted exercises that strengthen the feet, ankles, legs, and core while reinforcing proper ballet technique, posture, turnout, and balance. Emphasis is placed on correct body alignment, articulation of the feet, and injury prevention. Classes may include barre work, center exercises, and conditioning activities specifically designed to prepare dancers for the demands of pointe shoes.

TUITION & FEES
Monthly Class Tuition
Each weekly class is allotted an equal number of instructional weeks, independent of scheduled holidays and breaks.
Class weeks will vary between 3-5 weeks each month. This has already been taken into consideration, and will not affect the tuition installment rate. We do not charge less, or more each month. Tuition is based on the total year of instruction and divided equally into monthly installments for ease of payments. Classes run for 10 months. Tuition will be prorated if enrollment occurs mid month.
Tuition is not based on number of classes in the month, but is equally divided into equal monthly installments for ease of payments. Tuition will post to parent portal account on the 20th of each month and run the 5th of the following month. You must be enrolled in auto-pay on the parent portal system.

MULTI CLASS DISCOUNT: Students enrolled in six or more classes per week receive a discounted tuition rate. This discount is automatically applied to qualifying enrollments and is designed to reward dancers who are committed to expanding their training.
SIBLING DISCOUNT: 5% off second and 10% off third student’s tuition
MILITARY DISCOUNT: 5% off monthly tuition

Any fees paid to Sierra Dance Studio are not refundable. Notification of dropping a class must be given in writing two weeks before the first of the month.
